For my part, the excitement of the moment was tempered somewhat by the violence that occurred between some local mullet-heads and the punks, many of whom I knew, and which was often repeated in the following weeks. That had more to do with the territorial nature of the local male 'wildlife' and their poor social skills rather than anything the band was doing and thankfully the car park violence didn't follow the band to other hotels (although the broken beer glasses did and led the group to be banned from most of the city venues, young bands take note).

The U-Bombs, Accountants and The Dagoes, were featured on the first ever (allegedly) independent punk music release in Australia, 'Live at the Marryatville' issued on cassette by Simon Stretton of Tomorrow Productions. The three bands also got together and rented an old warehouse in Bloor Court in Adelaide city in which we would rehearse and hold the occasional unlicensed show, including the infamous ' St. Vitas Day Dance' which never happened because we got booted out for causing to much noise. Funny about that,

In an era when access to broadcast quality recording was very limited and incredibly expensive, The U-bombs still managed to record a number of demo recordings and the 7" vinyl E.P., 'Give Me a Medal'. Only 350 copies were made of this record (probably a good thing) with every cover lovingly hand-made on a silk screen press! Also included in the original single was a fridge sticker kit and a Ubombs poster.
